When I first heard about The Murder Puzzle, I was hoping for two things: an engaging crime thriller and a memorable bromance between the two leads. The premise certainly sounded promising. The story follows Deputy Captain Li Kaiyang and his reluctant apprentice Jiang Han as they investigate a string of disturbing murder cases, only to uncover a much larger conspiracy tied to decades-old secrets.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes series (directed by Guy Ritchie) is straight-up one of my favorite movies of all time. It has absolutely everything I love: a dark mystery, a high-octane thriller, and most importantly, one of the greatest male-and-male pairings in the history of Hollywood.
